I turn to you

I turn to you

When I’m lost in the rain
In your eyes I know I’ll find the light
to light my way
When I’m scared losing ground
When my world is going crazy
you can turn it all around

And when I’m down you’re there
pushing me to the top
You’re always there giving me all you got

For a shell
from the storm
For a friend
For the love to keep me save and warm
I turn to you
For the strength to be strong
For the will to carry on
For everything you do
For everything that’s true
I turn to you

When I lose the will to win
I just reach for you and I can reach the sky again
I can do anything
Cause your love is so amazing
Cause your love inspires me

And when I need a friend
You’re always on my side

Giving anything
and taking me through the night

For a shell
from the storm
For a friend
For the love to keep me safe and warm
I turn to you
For the strength to be strong
For the will to carry on
For everything you do
I turn to you

For the arm to be my shelter through the rain
For the truth that will never change
For someone to lead on
For a heart I can rely on through anything
For the world to
I can run to
I turn to you

For a shell
from the storm
For a friend
For the love to keep me save and warm
I turn to you
For the strength to be strong
For the will to carry on
For everything you do
For everything that’s true
For everything you do
For everything that’s true
I turn
to you
I turn to you…….

Isteri-isteri tak bergaji

Isteri-isteri tak bergaji
by: Dian

Setiap hari adalah dia
Yang pertama bangun pagi
Bersama geliat sang mentari
Disinari negeri pelangi

Tangannya tak berhenti bergerak
Kakinya kadang  setengah berlari
Mulutnya sibuk “bernyanyi”
Mengirim bintang-bintang kecil ke angkasa
tak lupa do’a berhamburan menyertai
Siapa tahu suatu hari
Bintang-bintangnya akan jadi matahari

Setiap malam adalah dia
Yang terakhir mendekap mimpi
Berselimut lelah sampai ke ujung sendi
Bintang-bintangnya sudah sejak tadi menghilang
Nina-boboknya mengantar mereka ke peraduan
Negeri pelangi untuk sesaat berbalut sunyi
Ditemani bulan menunggu  pagi

Untuk bintang-bintangnya…
Suaranya adalah yang pertama dan terakhir
Memulai pagi dan menutup hari
Terus begitu

Sampai kedua tangannya keriput
Melepas bintang-bintangnya bersinar
Dilangit kehidupannya sendiri

Sekilas…
Tangan-tangan ini bagai tak terlihat
Selintas…
Tangan-tangan ini tampak biasa
Tapi dunia tanpa tangan-tangan ini
Adakah ia tertata rapi?

Isteri-isteri tak bergaji ?
Tidak juga…
Untuk mereka…
Gajiannya menyusul nanti
Dibayar langsung Sang Majikan Alam

O Captain! My Captain!

O Captain! My Captain!

by Walt Whitman

I

O captain! my captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the stead keel, the vessel grim and daring.

But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red!
Where on the deck my captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

II

O captain! my captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up! for you the flag is flung, for you the bugle trills:
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths, for you the shores a-crowding:
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning.

O captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head;
It is some dream that on the deck
You’ve fallen cold and dead.

III

My captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will.
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done:
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won!

Exult, O abores! and ring, O bells!
But I, with silent tread,
Walk the spot my captain lies
Fallen cold and dead.

To my Passompe also those who love “Dead Poets Society”. Remembering the hard times, you have finally passed during your thesis work (alhamdulillah…). This Walt Whitman’s poem was also being quoted at “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888), in one dialog between Josephine March and Friedrich Bhaer.

Endymion

“Who, of men, can tell

That flowers would bloom, or that green fruit would swell

To melting pulp, that fish would bright mail,

The earth is dower of river, wood and vale,

The meadows runnels, runnels pebble-stones,

The seed its harvest, or the lute its tones,

Tones ravishment, or ravishment itw sweet,

If human souls did never kiss and greet?”

 ‘Endymion’

John Keats (1795-1821)

Someday in my life

here from the top of a mountain
i see you there
in the cool night air
someday in my life

fear has no reason to doubt them
they tell me so
yet they will never know
you are here in my life

wherever i go now
i’ll follow you
and my heart will be true
i have never known someone
to stay right here
soon you will be right here
someday in my life

here from the top of a mountain
i see you there
in the cool night air
someday in my life

storms may rage on about them
they hail and snow
yet they will never know
you are here in my life

wherever i go now
i’ll follow you
and my heart will be true
i have never known someone
to stay right here
soon you will be right here
someday in my life

Innocent and lovely you

Odisseus has an innocent and lovely look

Starring at your photographs

I must admit all of them are beautiful

Not because of the professional photographer nor the high-tech camera

It’s all because of you, yourself my dear son

Your funny and innocent face

Your cheerful and friendly smile

Your lovely and spontaneous act

Nobody will ever deny that

My pray will always be with you

Though you already understand

That I won’t be able to be there with you

I am sure you will always be fine

My prays and thoughts will always be with you

My innocent and lovely boy, Odisseus

Sunshine

Another record I have and like it a lot is from Maliq & d’essentials,  the 1st album. This very funky and cozy music I found in Disc Tarra store in Plaza Indonesia, February 2005. The first song I heard from this album was when me and my best friend Lulu were in the car riding for home after having our time together for a late lunch, its title is “Sunshine”.

Sunshine

I got sunshine, shining through my eyes

The love is from above, ‘cause You’re the sunshine of my life

I got sunshine, the love is from above

You gave me with a rush, ‘cause You’re the sunshine of my life

When I’m in doubt, I pray to you

You lead the way to brighter up my day

Day after day, You’ll always there

You show the way to brighter up my day

I got sunshine, I got sunshine

I’m gonna get down, and I’m down for you

I raise my hand, call up Your name

Allahu Akbar, the One above me

I live for you and I’ll die for you

more open to the beauty

and miracles that happens

or maybe it is

my tongue which is

could not speaks eloquently

Manusia-manusia langit

by: Anonim at FAI Fasilkon UI

Jadilah manusia-manusia langit
Yang dengan sayapnya dapat meringankan beban bumi
Jadilah manusia-manusia langit

Tapi manusia langit bukan segalanya
Di atas kecantikannya… Allah-lah yang maha sempurna
Manusia langit bukanlah segalanya.

Karenanya …
Di pagi hari ia berdzikir
Saat siang ia bekerja dan
Malam hari ia berkhalwat dengan Rabbnya
Sebab tanpa Rabb-nya… Ia pasti bukan apa-apa…

Bunda

by: Anonim at FAI Fasilkom UI

Ibunda…
Di tirai pagi kubersandar pada dinding kesedihan
Di senandung alam kuberbaring pada rajutan kerinduan

Ibunda…

Ibunda…
Coba kukumpulkan keindahan dunia untuk ganti hadirmu
Coba kupilah yang terbaik untuk isi kerinduanku

Tapi bunda…
Dunia takkan mampu menggantikanmu

Dunia…ah apalah arti dunia ketika surgapun ditelapak kakimu
Hingga derita kau rasa indah demi anandamu

Agar surga selalu hadir untukmu
Bukan hanya di telapak kakimu
